My name is Geir Aage Vollan, born in Lillehammer in 1956.
I live in Øyer with my Irish Wolfhound ARAGON and three cats near the river Laagen which is in the middleeast of Norway.
I have allways been into music and started to play accordion at an age of seven but during my early years I became more influenced by the music transmitted by Radio Luxenbourg. So after about eight years with the accordion I switched to an acoustic guitar because I had to play the music the same way as My Rock'n Roll heroes did.
But through the years I became deeply impressed by the way the bassplayer together with the drummer could make the song shuffle or swing. I was therefor more into basslines than guitarlines when I finally got my first bass.
Since then bass has been my favourite instrument.
I have toured with duo's, trios and different bands, as a sessionmusician in the studio or as a "jump in" musician. My friends and colleagues tell me that I play well, have a good sound and am steady as a Rock.
I have a wide range of styles to look back on. My favourite is Blues, BluesRock, Rock'n Roll and some Funky stuff, but I have also done Folk, Country, CountryRock and Popmusic.
I especially like music from the 60's, 70's and 80's, but some older and newer stuff is good too.....
